- 2 c. granulated sugar
- dash of salt
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts
- 1 c. heavy cream
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. chopped maraschino cherries
Directions

1Bring sugar, cream and dash of salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

2Add the salt.

3Cook until mixture reaches soft ball stage.

4Remove from heat; let stand until almost cold.

5Beat mixture until thick and creamy.

6Cover with a damp cloth; let stand 30 minutes.

7Add vanilla, nuts and cherries; work in with hands.

8Press into a shallow, waxed paper lined pan. Makes 1 pound.
