- 2 c. flour
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 4 Tbsp. shortening
- 2/3 c. milk
- 4 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix together.

2Roll dough to 1/4-inch thickness.

3Spread with generous amount of butter.

4Drain 2 cans sweetened cherries and heat cherries with 2 cups sugar until dissolved.

5Spread over dough.

6Sprinkle a little cinnamon over all and roll carefully to distribute cherries evenly on dough.

7Cut as for cinnamon rolls. Place cut side down in a well-buttered pan.

8Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.

9Then pour thickened and sweetened cherry juice over dumplings and return to oven for another 5 minutes or until slightly brown.

10Serve warm plain or with cream.
