- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 1 tsp. almond flavoring
- 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
- 1/2 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries
- 3 3/4 c. flour, sifted (plain or cake)
- 3/4 c. milk
- cherry juice
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. pecans, chopped
Directions

1Cream butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time. Mix baking powder and flour.

3Add to creamed mixture, alternating with milk and cherry juice.

4Add cherries, flavorings and nuts. Pour batter into well-greased and floured tube pan.

5Bake 1 1/2 hours in 325° oven.

6Cool 10 minutes before removing from pan. Frost.
