Cherry Pound Cake

  • 3 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 3/4 c. plain flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c. milk and juice from cherries to make 1 c.
  • 1/2 (10 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, mashed or chopped

    Mix all ingredients together, adding eggs one at a time.

    Bake at 300° in tube pan for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. Start in cold oven!
