- 1 c. flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. butter
- 1/3 c. water
- 1 (1 pt.) can cherries, drained
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 c. cherry juice
Directions

1Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into a bowl. Blend in the butter.

2Add the water; mix lightly.

3Pat out into an 8-inch square pan.

4Cover with cherries, drained from a pint can. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup sugar.

5Pour the cherry juice on top.

6Bake for 40 minutes in the oven at 350°.

7Serve warm with the sauce which forms in bottom of pan spooned over.
