- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1 1/2 c. canned cherries, drained
- 1/4 c. cherry juice
Directions

1Cream together butter and 1 cup sugar.

2Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

3Add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.

4Pour into greased baking dish, 9 x 9-inch.

5Combine cherries with remaining sugar and 1/4 cup juice and heat.

6Pour cherries over batter.

7Bake at 350° for 35 to 40 minutes.

8Serve warm.

9Delicious topped with cream or ice cream.

10When baked, cherries will be at the bottom and cake on top.
