  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 box brown sugar
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 4 egg whites
  • 2 c. plain flour

Directions

    Melt butter. Add sugar. Blend. Add egg yolks; beat well. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture. Fold in nuts. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites stiff. Fold into mixture. Spread into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350° for 30 to 45 minutes. It will rise, then fall.
