- 1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
- 1/4 c. (1/2 stick) butter
- 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 c. milk
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 c. chopped dates
- sweetened whipped cream, if desired
- walnuts halves, if desired
Directions

1Preheat oven to 375°.

2Cream butter in large mixing bowl; gradually add sugars and beat until light and fluffy.

3Beat in eggs, one at a time.

4Stir in milk, flour, vanilla and salt.

5Stir in walnuts and dates.

6Pour into pie shell.

7Bake 50 to 55 minutes, or until center is set.

8Cool on wire rack.

9Garnish with whipped cream and walnut halves.
