- 1/2 lb. pastilli (dry chestnuts)
- 1 loaf stale Italian bread
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. celery, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 2 onions, minced
- 2 sticks melted butter
- 2 Tbsp. parsley
- 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
- salt, pepper and basil to taste
Directions

1Soak dry chestnuts overnight.

2Drain well.

3Cut stale bread into crouton size pieces; mix.

4Boil celery, onion and green pepper.

5Beat in egg.

6Add melted butter and seasonings.

7Mix in bread and chestnuts.

8Stir well.

9Stuff into bird or spread into a greased pan.

10If making pan stuffing, bake at 350° for 25 minutes.
