Chicken Biskette Casserole

- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 stick soft butter
- 1/4 c. water or soy sauce
- 10 oz. chicken broth
- 1 c. flour
- 2 1/2 c. chopped, cooked chicken
- 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen mixed vegetables
- 3/4 c. noncooked quick oats oatmeal
- 2 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 c. milk
- 1 egg white
- salt, pepper and garlic to taste
Directions

1Preheat oven to 475°.

2Cook onion in 2 tablespoons butter. Add water (or soy sauce), chicken broth, 1/4 cup flour, salt, pepper and garlic.

3Cook approximately 3 minutes, until thickened. Add frozen vegetables and chicken.

4Pour into 2-quart casserole dish.

5Combine remaining flour, oatmeal and baking powder.

6Cut in butter until crumbly.

7Stir in milk and egg white until moist. Drop by tablespoon onto top of chicken mixture.

8Bake 30 to 45 minutes until golden.
