Chicken Mull

Ingredients

  • 1 small hen or 2 fryers
  • 4 medium onions
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • salt to taste
  • red pepper
  • 1 qt. milk
  • saltine crackers, crushed

Directions

    Boil chicken and onions in 4 cups salt water, about 2 1/2 hours.

    When meat leaves the bone, remove from broth.

    Reduce heat.

    Chop chicken and return to broth.

    Add other ingredients in order given.

    (Add saltines until Mull is thick.)

    Let reach boiling point, stirring constantly.

    Reduce heat to warm.

    Can be reheated several times.
