- 1 c. chopped onion
- 1 c. chopped celery
- 1 c. chopped carrots
- 1/3 c. butter, melted
- 1/2 c. plain flour
- 2 c. chicken broth
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 4 c. chicken, cooked and chopped
- 2 (9-inch) pastry shells
Directions

1Saute onion, celery and carrots in butter for 10 minutes.

2Add flour to mixture, stirring well.

3Cook 1 minute.

4Combine broth and milk; gradually stir into vegetable mixture.

5Cook over medium heat; stir until thickened and bubbly.

6Stir in salt, pepper and add chopped chicken.

7Pour chicken mixture in shallow 2-quart casserole.

8Top with pastry; cut slits to allow steam to escape. Bake at 400° for 40 minutes.
