  • 1 lb (.5 kg) ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 lb (.2 kg) mushrooms, diced
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) salt
  • 1/2 tsp (2 ml) tarragon
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter
  • 6 sheets phyllo dough

Directions

    Brown ground chicken and onion in oil.

    Add seasonings and mushrooms, cooking until mushrooms soften.

    Drain.

    Stir in parsley.

    Melt butter.

    Keep phyllo sheets between damp cloths so they will not dry out.

    Lay two sheets on another damp cloth and brush top sheet with butter.

    Lay two more sheets on these and brush with butter.

    Top with remaining two sheets and brush with butter.

    Spoon chicken mixture along the third of the sheet closest to you.

    Using cloth underneath, roll up jelly roll fashion and shift onto greased baking sheet.

    Brush top with remaining butter.

    Bake in 375 degree (200 C.) oven 20-30 minutes until golden brown.
