  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 to 4 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 can Vegeburger
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1 large can stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
  • 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. cumin
  • 2 to 3 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 1/2 c. (dry) pinto beans, cooled

Directions

    Cook beans (ahead); fry in oil, onions and garlic until soft. Add vegeburger and fry until browned.

    Add tomato sauce, stewed tomatoes and spices.

    Simmer 10 minutes.

    Add beans and simmer 15 to 30 minutes.

    Serves 8.
