Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger
  • 32 oz. can pinto beans
  • 1 qt. tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1 large onion, finely minced

Directions

    Brown ground beef in 1 teaspoon oil.

    In a separate pan, brown onion in 1 teaspoon oil.

    When onion is browned, add vinegar, sugar, salt, pepper, chili powder and garlic powder.

    Stir well. Drain and mash 1 quart of tomatoes and add to mixture along with beef and beans.

    Simmer on low heat for 20 to 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Serves 6 to 8.
