Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 large green pepper, chopped
  • 16 oz. can whole tomatoes
  • 15 oz. can kidney beans (undrained)
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 3 oz. can tomato sauce
  • salt to taste (optional)

Directions

    In large skillet, brown beef, onion, green pepper.

    Drain excess fat.

    Break up whole tomatoes.

    Stir in remaining ingredients.

    Cook in a Dutch oven at 350°until bubbly.

    Stir to keep from burning. If hotter chili desired, add hot peppers (bottled) and some of the pepper juice to suit your own taste. Serves 5 to 6 persons.
