Ingredients

  • 8 lb. ground beef
  • 2 to 3 large onions
  • 1 1/2 to 2 c. green pepper
  • 6 heaping Tbsp. chili powder
  • 2 (No. 10) cans tomatoes, crushed (2 gal.)
  • 1 (46 oz.) can tomato juice
  • 1/2 gal. water
  • 2 (No. 10) cans kidney beans (2 gal.)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Tabasco sauce for flavor

Directions

    Brown beef, onion and green pepper (brown onion and pepper separate from beef).

    Mix other ingredients; simmer then add beef, onion and pepper.

    Simmer for several hours to improve flavor. Add kidney beans last 30 minutes of cooking.
