Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped green pepper
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 (8 oz.) can red kidney beans
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomatoes
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. dried basil
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions

    In skillet, cook ground beef, green pepper, onion and garlic until meat is browned.

    Drain off excess fat.

    Stir in undrained kidney beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, dried basil and pepper.

    Bring to boil.

    Simmer about 20 minutes.

    Serve with cornbread or over rice.
