- 1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
- 1/2 c. chopped onion
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 2 lb. lean ground beef
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. dried oregano leaves
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. red pepper
- 2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
- 1 (32 oz.) can light red kidney beans
Directions

1Brown ground beef in a large kettle.

2Add onions, garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, red pepper and oil.

3Cook until onions are tender.

4Next add tomatoes (in juice), kidney beans and chili powder.

5Simmer for 1 hour, stirring frequently.
