  • 2 green peppers, diced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening or oil
  • 1 c. canned tomatoes, chopped (undrained)
  • 1 (4 oz.) can diced green chilies
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. chili powder
  • 2 c. grated Old English brand or Velveeta brand cheese

Directions

    Saute peppers and onion in shortening.

    Stir continuously while adding tomatoes; cook five minutes.

    Add green chilies, salt, chili powder and cheese.

    Cook on low heat until cheese is melted.

    Serve hot with tortillas or corn chips. May be made ahead of time and reheated for serving.
