Creamed Cabbage With Cheese

  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1 c. grated cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. paprika
  • 2 Tbsp. minced onion
  • 2 Tbsp. minced parsley
  • 1/3 c. bread crumbs

Directions

    Shred the cabbage fine.

    Cook in small amount of salted boiling water until tender but still crisp.

    Drain well.

    Place cabbage and cheese in layers in greased baking dish.

    Melt butter; blend in flour.

    Stir in milk slowly; cook and stir until sauce comes to a boil.

    Add salt, paprika, onion and parsley.

    Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 to 20 minutes until crumbs are brown.
