Chili Macaroni

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 medium green pepper, chopped (optional)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can kidney beans (undrained)
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 Tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. elbow macaroni (uncooked)
  • 1/2 c. shredded cheese (optional)

Directions

    In large skillet, brown beef, onion and pepper in small amount of oil; drain.

    Add kidney beans, tomatoes, water, chili powder, salt and macaroni.

    Cover; simmer gently for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    Just before serving, top with cheese and heat until cheese melts.

    Serves 4.
