  • 1 gal. tomatoes
  • 2 c. chopped onions
  • 2 c. chopped red sweet peppers
  • 1 pod hot pepper
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard seed
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 3 Tbsp. mixed spices
  • 2 1/2 c. vinegar

Directions

    Wash and drain vegetables. Scald, core, peel and chop the tomatoes.

    Peel onions. Remove seeds from peppers, chop and measure.
  3. 3
    Mix all ingredients except spices and vinegar.

    Boil 45 minutes. Add spices (tied in bag). Boil until very thick, then add vinegar and boil until thick as wanted.

    Pour boiling hot into jars and seal at once.
