- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light corn syrup
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. coarsely chopped almonds
- 1 Tbsp. butter (margarine)
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 3/4 lb. dark or milk chocolate confectionery coating

21 1/2-quart microwave-safe bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup and salt; mix well.

3Microwave on High for 4 minutes.

4Stir in almonds; microwave on High again 4 minutes.

5Add butter and vanilla; microwave on High 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.

6Stir in baking soda.

7As soon as the mixture foams, quickly pour onto a greased metal baking sheet.

8Cool completely.

9Break into 2-inch pieces. Melt chocolate in microwave.

10Drizzle over top.
