Chocolate Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • 2 c. milk
  • 2 sq. unsweetened chocolate (I prefer the liquid packets)
  • 4 c. coarse bread crumbs
  • 1/4 c. butter or oleo, melted
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

    Scald the milk with the chocolate and butter in it.

    Pour over the bread crumbs.

    Cool a little.

    Then add the egg, sugar and vanilla mixture.

    Pour into a buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Bake at 350° for 40 to 45 minutes or until silver knife inserted comes out clean.

    Serve warm with or without hard sauce or cream.
