  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk or sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    In a saucepan boil margarine, water and cocoa.

    Pour this while hot over dry ingredients (flour, sugar and salt).

    In a bowl beat buttermilk, vanilla, soda and eggs.

    Add to first mixture. Bake in a large greased cake pan or jelly roll pan at 350° for 20 minutes.

    Frost with powdered sugar frosting while cake is warm.
