  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. water
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 2 sticks butter
  • 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 Tbsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
  • 2 lightly beaten eggs

Directions

    Combine sugar and flour in a large bowl. Bring butter, water and cocoa to a boil.

    Pour into mixture.

    Put soda in buttermilk and stir good.

    Add to mixture.

    Mix well. Add eggs and vanilla. Pour into greased and floured pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.
