Chocolate Caramel Bars

- 1 pkg. German chocolate cake mix
- about 35 caramels
- 1 Tbsp. margarine
- 1 c. chocolate chips
- 1/4 c. milk
- 1/2 c. pecans, chopped up
Directions

1Melt caramels in top of a double boiler with the margarine and milk.

2Stir and set aside.

3Mix cake mix according to package directions.

4Pour 1/2 of this batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan and bake for 20 minutes at 350°.

5When baked, pour caramel mixture over evenly and sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over caramel layer.

6Put nuts on top of chips.

7Add remaining batter and bake for 30 more minutes at 350°.

8Cut in bars when cooled.
