Ingredients
- 1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened (1/4 lb.)
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
Directions

1In double boiler over simmering water, melt chocolate chips; set aside.

2In large bowl, beat butter and 1 cup sugar until creamy.

3Beat in eggs and chocolate.

4Mix dry ingredients in small bowl, then add gradually to butter mixture.

5Place remaining sugar in small bowl.

6Roll dough in 1-inch balls and roll in sugar. Place 2-inches apart on greased baking sheet.

7Bake at 350° for 12 to 14 minutes or until tops appear dry.

8Cool one minute, then transfer to rack.

9Store airtight.

10Makes 3 1/2 dozen.
