- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 Tbsp. cocoa (heaping)
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. boiling water
Directions

1Beat egg.

2Add sugar and oil.

3Sift dry ingredients and add to first mixture.

4Mix well.

5Add boiling water a little at a time and mix well.

6Add vanilla.

7Batter will be thin.

8Pour into lined cupcake tins.

9Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 minutes.

10Test with toothpick.
