Chocolate Date Truffles

  • 3/4 c. slivered almonds
  • 2 sq. semi-sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 c. butter or margarine
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. chopped dates
  • 1 Tbsp. brandy flavoring

Directions

    Grind 1/4 cup almonds in blender. Toast remaining almonds and chop finely.

    Melt chocolate with butter in saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.

    Stir in ground almonds, sugar and flavoring.

    Add dates; chill until firm, stirring occasionally, 1 to 2 hours.

    Shape into 3/4-inch balls.

    Roll balls in toasted almonds.

    Store covered in refrigerator.
