Chocolate Macaroon Bars

  • 1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
  • 1/3 c. butter, softened
  • 2 eggs, divided
  • 14 oz. can sweet condensed milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 12 oz. pkg. Nestle Toll House semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 1/3 c. flaked coconut, divided
  • 3/4 c. chopped pecans (optional)

Directions

    Beat cake mix, butter and 1 egg in large mixing bowl until mix is crumbly.

    Firmly press mixture onto bottom of greased 9 x 13 pan.

    Combine sweet condensed milk, 1 egg and vanilla in a medium bowl.

    Stir in morsels, 1 cup coconut and pecans.

    Spread over mixture in baking pan.

    Sprinkle with remaining coconut.

    Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown (center will set when cooled).

    Cut into bars.
