Chocolate Mahogany Cake

  • 3/4 C. Crisco
  • 2 1/4 C. sugar
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 C. cocoa
  • 3/4 C. hot water
  • 3/4 C. cold water
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • little salt
  • 2 1/2 C. flour, sifted
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Cream Crisco, add sugar and beat eggs. Dissolve cocoa in hot water. Add small amount of flour before cocoa. Sift flour and add salt and soda. Beat in flour mixture. Add vanilla.

    Turn oven to 350 degrees

    Bake in 9 x 12 pan for 35-45 min. until toothpick comes out clean.
