- 1 (9-inch) pie crust
- 1/3 c. butter
- 1/3 c. cocoa
- 2/3 c. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
- 1 c. pecan halves
Directions

1Prepare pastry shell; set aside.

2Preheat oven to 325°.

3In a medium saucepan, low heat, melt butter.

4Add cocoa and stir until smooth.

5Remove from heat; cool.

6Stir in sugar, salt, slightly beaten eggs and corn syrup.

7Blend well.

8Stir in chopped nuts if desired and pour all into pie crust.

9Place pecan halves on top. Bake 40 minutes.

10Let cool and cover for 8 hours before serving.
