Chocolate Raspberry Bars

- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 (2 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. raspberry seedless jam
- 1/2 c. toasted coconut
Directions

1Melt butter and chocolate over very low heat.

2Cool slightly. Beat eggs until thick and foamy.

3Gradually beat in sugar.

4Stir in butter, chocolate mixture and vanilla.

5Sift flour, baking powder and salt.

6Stir into egg mixture.

7Turn into a greased 9-inch square pan.

8Bake at 350° for 25 minutes, until tester comes out clean.

9Cool in pan on rack.

10Spread top with jam and sprinkle with chocolate while warm.

11Cool.

12Cut into 24 bars.
