- 7 Tbsp. plain flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. water
- 1 pt. whipping cream
Directions

1Sift flour, cocoa and baking powder together several times. Set aside.

2Separate eggs and beat yolks, vanilla and salt together until light.

3Add water and continue beating.

4Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar.

5Slowly add flour mixture.

6Set aside.

7Beat egg whites until stiff.

8Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar.

9Fold into chocolate mixture.

10Pour into well-greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan lined with wax paper.

11Bake at 400° for 10 to 15 minutes.

12Turn cake out on towel dusted with powdered sugar.

13Peel off wax paper and roll up while hot.

14When cool, unroll and spread with whipped cream and roll up again.

15Spread with chocolate frosting or leave plain.
