- 5 egg whites
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. flour
- 3 Tbsp. cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. salt
Directions

1Beat whites, cream of tartar and vanilla until stiff, but not dry.

2Gradually beat in 1/2 cup sugar.

3Beat yolks until thick and lemon colored.

4Sift remaining ingredients; fold into yolks until blended.

5Fold yolks into whites.

6Line a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2-inch jelly roll pan with waxed paper; grease.

7Spread batter in pan. Bake in slow oven (325°) for about 25 minutes.
