  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/2 c. Crisco
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix flour and sugar in a large bowl.

    Bring to boil in saucepan over medium heat:

    oleo, water, cocoa and Crisco.

    Pour over dry ingredients and mix well.

    Add buttermilk, eggs, soda and vanilla. Mix well.

    Pour into prepared 13 x 9-inch pan and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

    Top with favorite frosting.
