  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks oleo
  • 1 c. water
  • 3 to 4 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)

Directions

    Sift flour, sugar and salt.

    In a saucepan, combine water and cocoa.

    Bring to a boil and pour over flour mixture.

    In another bowl, mix eggs, soda, buttermilk and vanilla.

    Add to flour mixture, blending well.

    Pour into a greased 10 1/2 x 12 1/2-inch jelly roll pan or 11 x 7-inch pan.

    Bake at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes.
