  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 3/4 c. cake flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 4 egg whites

Directions

    Cream the butter, add the sugar and beat well.

    Sift the flour, baking powder and salt.

    Add alternately with the milk and vanilla.

    Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into cake. Bake in 2 layers in a 365° oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Top with chocolate butter icing.
