- 1/2 c. butter or margarine, softened
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/4 c. unsifted all-purpose flour
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. (16 oz. can) Hershey's syrup
Directions

1Cream butter, sugar and vanilla in large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

2Add eggs, beat well.

3Combine flour and baking soda.

4Add alternately with syrup to creamed mixture.

5Fill paper-lined muffin cups (2 1/2-inches diameter) half full with batter.

6Bake at 375° for 15 to 20 minutes or until cake tester comes out clean.

7Cool.

8Frost as desired.

9Yields about 2 1/2 dozen cupcakes.
