- 1/2 lb. pork, diced
- 3/4 lb. beef, diced
- 6 Tbsp. soy sauce
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 small bunch celery, cut 1/2-inch thick (use more or less celery as desired)
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 (No. 2) can bean sprouts
- 1 small can mushrooms
- bamboo shoots or water chestnuts (if desired)
Directions

1Sear diced meat in skillet until brown.

2Mix soy sauce and water.

3Add to meat, simmer 2 minutes.

4Cook celery and onion in small amount of water until tender.

5Add meat, simmer 1 1/2 hours. Mix cornstarch with water to form paste.

6Stir in meat mixture, add bean sprouts and mushrooms (also water chestnuts or bamboo shoots if desired).

7Cook gently until thick.

8Season to taste with salt.

9Serve with chow mein noodles or fluffy rice, or both.
