Ingredients
- 1 gal. chopped cabbage
- 12 green peppers, chopped
- 2 qt. green tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 c. salt
- 4 Tbsp. mustard seed
- 3 Tbsp. celery seed
- 2 Tbsp. mixed whole pickling spice
- 12 onions, chopped
- 4 Tbsp. ground mustard
- 1 Tbsp. ground ginger
- 1 Tbsp. ground turmeric
- 12 red peppers, chopped
- 5 c. sugar
- 2 to 3 qt. white vinegar
Directions

1Mix cabbage, green peppers and tomatoes with salt and let stand overnight; drain.

2Tie mixed whole spices in a cheesecloth bag and add to sugar and vinegar.

3Simmer for 20 minutes.

4Add all other ingredients and simmer until mixture is hot and well seasoned.

5Remove spice bag.

6Pack in hot canning jars and seal at once.
