  • 2 lb. beef, diced
  • 2 Tbsp. fat
  • 4 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 2 c. celery (1/2-inch pieces)
  • 1 small onion or 1 Tbsp. onion salt
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 (10 oz.) can water chestnuts
  • 2 1/2 c. bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 (2 oz.) can mushrooms

Directions

    Brown meat in hot fat; add soy sauce and 1 cup water.

    Simmer 2 minutes.

    Add celery and onion; simmer 1 1/2 hours.

    Blend cornstarch and water; stir into meat mixture.

    Add chestnuts, bean sprouts and mushrooms.
