- 2 lb. stew meat
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 tsp. thyme
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 can stewed tomatoes
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 6 potatoes, peeled and quartered
- 6 carrots, sliced 1 1/2-inch
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 stalks celery, chopped
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
Directions

1Dust beef with flour.

2Brown in oil in heavy pot.

3Add remaining ingredients except tomato sauce.

4Cover with water. Simmer over low heat 2 hours, stirring occasionally.

5Add tomato sauce.
