  • 2 lb. cooking apples, cored, peeled and sliced
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 3 to 4 drops red food coloring

Directions

    In saucepan combine all ingredients except apples.

    Bring to a boil until thickened.

    Pour over apples and bake at 350° for 1/2 hour, or until apples are tender.
