- 1 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 4 or 5 cooking apples (1 1/2 lb.)
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 1/4 c. butter
Directions

1Combine sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

2Pare apples and chop into bite-sized pieces.

3Put in a 4 cup measure sprinkling with cinnamon mixture, as you add apples.

4When you have 4 cups, put apples, water and butter into a saucepan.

5Cover and cook over low to medium heat, stirring once or twice, for 15 to 20 minutes or until apples are tender.

6Yields 2 2/3 cups.
