- 2 cups self rising flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 3/4 to 1 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Heat oven to 450 degrees.

2Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off.

3In large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon and baking soda.

4Using pastry blender or fork, cut in shortening until mixture resembles course crumbs; stir in raisins.

5Stirring with fork, add buttermilk until mixture leaves sides of bowl and soft dough forms.

6Turn dough onto floured surface and knead lightly until no longer sticky.

7Roll out 1/2

8inch thick and cut with floured 2 1/2 inch cutter.

9Place on ungreased cookie sheet with sides touching.

10Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes or until light golden brown.

11Cool 5 minutes on wire rack and frost. Serve immediately.
