  • 2 gal. large cucumbers (peeled, cored & cut round)
  • 2 c. lime
  • 8 1/2 qts. cold water
  • 1 c. vinegar
  • 1 oz. red food coloring
  • 1 Tbsp. alum
  • enough water to cover cucumbers
  • 2 c. water
  • 10 c. sugar
  • 7 1/2 oz. red hot candy
  • 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 2c. vinegar

    Add liquid to the cucumbers.

    Let set overnight.

    Bring to a boil again.

    Let stand at room temperature.

    Bring to a boil again.

    Put in jars and seal.

    If liquid runs low add a little water.
