Cinnamon Rolls

- 4 c. sifted flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 2 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. Crisco
- 1 c. milk
- soft butter, cinnamon and sugar
- raisins and nuts (if desired)
Directions

1Preheat oven to 425°.

2Grease 24 individual muffin cups.

3In a large mixing bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder and salt. Add the Crisco.

4Rub the mixture together.
-
5Add milk; stir with fork until soft dough forms.

6Turn dough on floured cutting board and knead a few times.

7Divide dough in half.
-
8Roll out half of the dough into a long rectangle about 1/8-inch thick.

9Spread the dough with soft butter and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar (and raisins and nuts if desired).

10Roll up dough, jelly roll style, and pinch the ends.

11Cut into 12 pieces.

12Place each piece into a greased muffin cup.

13Repeat this procedure with the other half of the dough.

14Bake the rolls for about 15 minutes.

15Cool in pans for 5 minutes, then turn out onto wire racks.

16Serve warm, with butter if desired.
